7 Simple Tips for Baby-Soft Hands

Babies we have softness in every inch of their skin. As we age, our skin seasons and little by little that softness parts away from us. The very first signs of ageing start to leave dents on our hands even before the face. That is why, it is often said, the age of a person can be determined from his/her hands. The palms of our hands have near to no oil glands in it so, they become dry very easily. From that dryness all the hard-skin problem, wrinkling and pigmentation start. For the past two years my hands are getting dry day-by-day. To cater this problem and return back to my soft hand days, I have included some hand care steps in my daily skincare regimen which I am going to share with you today. Keep reading to know more.

1. Moisturize, Moisturize and Moisturize

It is no brainer that moisturizing is the key to soft hands. The more nourishment you supply to your hands, the more soft it will get over time. Do not shy away from moisturizing your hands every few hours with whatever you have with, be it a sophisticated hand cream, a cold cream, a body lotion or your baby’s diaper rash cream. Even if you have oily body skin, you still need to keep a hand cream handy. One more tip here, always use a mild and moisturizing enough hand wash instead of those harsh ones or all your expenditure on hand moisturizer will go down the drain.

2. Make Use of Kitchen Ingredients

Kitchen ingredients hold more power than you presume. They are organic, preservative-free and most importantly with zero side-effects. They are certainly not going to do anything bad to your skin even if they do not suit you. For intense moisture you can put your trust on Ghee or Clarified butter, Butter, Milk Cream, Coconut Milk, Mayonnaise, Peanut Butter, Vegetable Oil or Sunflower Oil while fresh Tomato Juice, Lemon are Mango will help to get over with tanned hands along with providing hydration. So, next time, when you are chopping veggies for lunch or dinner make it a point to cut a small slice of tomato for your hands!

3. Treat Face and Hand in the Same Way

Most of us do anything and everything for facial skin when the hand problems lie unattended. Time has come to change the line of thinking on this matter. From my personal experience I can tell you that half of your rough hand problem will get sorted out if you treat both your hands and face the same way. That means, the products you are applying to your face morning and evening at your skin care regimen need your hand to apply them. Why don’t you take a little bit of extra for your hands? Once I started doing this, the result took no more than a month to reflect in supple hands.

4. Overnight Moisture Bags

Now, this is a new technique that I found out just a few days ago. Remember the way the salon ladies wrap the feet with a soft towel after massaging with dense creams? The principle of this technique is pretty much same just the equipment differ. In this method you would have to take generous amount of heavy moisturizer in two medium size poly-bag and at night you have to wrap your hands in them to get up with moisturized hands the next day. This technique can even revive the most rough and calloused hands.

5. Shield Your Delicate Hands

Prevention is always better than taking pains afterwards to cure your problem. Rough and coarse hand problem goes the same way as well. Hands often experience environmental extremities native to every season depending on the place you live in. When exposure to excess water and use of harsh chemical detergents get added to it, the situation of your delicate hands simply worsens. If you are someone who has to remain out in the sun in the summer or cold in winter for long, you should consider opting for appropriate gloves. For household chores a skin-friendly glove is a must for soft hands.

6. Make Friends with Peel-off Masks

When your hands are dry, lack in moisture content causes the upper layer the palm skin to die faster. This dead cell layer is not very easy to remove and they prevent the living cells underneath to get the moisture we are supplying through the hand moisturizers. For many of us, it is not possible to exfoliate our hands every day because exfoliating dry hands need hard scrubbing. To solve this problem any kind of peel-off mask comes handy. Just apply them to the hands and sit back for some time. These masks will do their job of peeling of every bit of dead skin without much fuss. Isn’t it awesome?

7. Keep Using Hand Soaks Regularly

Applying moisturizer on hands frequently is not going to take over all dry hand problems alone because these hand creams just seal the moisture. You still require some kind of hydrating agent to plum up the skin to remain soft. Of course, you have water as a hydrator but sometimes water is not enough. That is when hand soaks come into the picture. They give you the means to hydrate the skin with some sort of moisturization and cleansing because hand soak are generally concoctions made out of plain water, a mild cleanser, some moisturizing oil. Essential oils are also included to take care of certain troubles like fungal infection. So, go ahead and customize your own hand soak to take over the world with your enviously soft hands!
