The Least favourite from my Stash : Maybelline Colorshow Violet Delight 405

My stash is full of Maybelline Colorshow Lipsticks out of which there are some that are close to my heart while there are some which I like to use but does not flatter my skin tone, and there is that one lipstick that I just can’t stand. Violet Delight is the one, that I just can’t apply for even an hour. There is nothing wrong with the lipstick, but it’s just me.

This is a plum lipstick. Why I got it in the first place if I do not like it? Well, I got it when I was down with “Plum” fever. I was hoarding everything plum. I got NYX plum palette too, but that was a worthy investment. I am still loving the palette. It has six different shades of plum & burgundy.

Okay so coming back to the lipstick. It is plum, very plumy. The only problem is the finish that it gives to me. It is way to glossy for a plum lipstick. The NYX palette has satin finish but it almost set as matte. Plums are good as long as they are matte (atleast to my liking).

Texture wise it is creamy as other lipsticks from the range. Glides on lips smoothly giving nice color pay off in the very first swipe. Pigmentation is good & buildable. 2 swipes are enough to cover pigmented lips. This is a dark plum shade hence pigmented lips too get a nice shade. The finish is glossy. I blot the glossiness, but I still do not like the look of this lipstick on my lips. I just do not like it internally. I apply it only when I just think, there must be some way I can look good with this lipstick. But no, I just can’t & I wipe it right away.

I just realized I should try it as a creamy eyeshadow. Will try it before washing my face next time!!! 🙂 On this happy note, I wish you a good day ahead.
