NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick LSS511 CHAOS : Swatches & Review

NYX Round Lipsticks, have been around for quite many years now. I remember when I first got a hold on to some NYX round lipsticks via some international shopping website, I was amazed to see that the shade range was so vast. I had a difficult time picking up a few. I picked up Tea Rose, Thalia, Fig, and a few others I do not remember now. I had to pay for the shipping also, so it turned out to be a costly but pretty matter.

I waited for more than a month back then to finally meet the gorgeous shades and my first NYX lipsticks. I was kind of smitten over the brand. I also got some cream blushes from NYX with the lipsticks and was really happy with my find. When I received the lipsticks and the blushes, I wore them every day to the office every single day. When my girls would ask me what I was wearing, I would answer her with a huge smile on my face, “Oh, it’s NYX”.

I am smiling right now like you must be. That feels stupid now, a little bit at least. NYX is quite a household name in India, now. All the previous NYX lipsticks, I owned, are worn out or smashed out by my toddler. I shopped for NYX Pro Cream Lip Palette last year (last December actually) from Nykaa. Nykaa had a deal with the purchase of Rs. 15oo worth of NYX products, an NYX round lipstick would be given free. Since the lip palette was worth 1500 bucks alone, I got this lipstick. I didn’t get to choose the shade though but then I would have gotten confused anyway. This shade is right for winter night outs.

The NYX Round Lipsticks come in a black packaging with lipstick color hinted at the bottom of the bullet. This makes it easy to identify the shade. The packaging is sturdy won’t break off easily. Black packaging is always classic, I feel.

Texture

NYX has improved its formula for the Round lipsticks and that’s why they are known as Extra Creamy Round Lipsticks. The texture is way too creamy that the bullets feel very soft on lips and glides very smoothly across my lips. I just wonder how come it does not bleed while being so damn creamy. It absolutely feels like you are smothering my lips in rich cream. This creamy texture takes away all the dryness of my lips.

Pigmentation

If I talk about the pigmentation of this particular shade I am talking about, I would say as I have come across very few such lipsticks which are so pigmented that I do not need a second coat. It literally is that insanely pigmented. A single coat gives the perfect red color. The pigmentation is intense maybe because of the shade it is.

Some lighter shades are not that much pigmented, but that is quite logical too.

Shade – LSS511 Chaos

This is shade from the Red color family. It is bright red with a hint of pinks. You may call it pinkish red. It brightens up my face instantly. It is perfect for night outs when you want your lips to stand out while keeping everything else to minimal.

My favorite shade from this range is Fig, which is a bubblegum pink.

Finish

This lipstick gives a satin finish to lips, I hope you already know, that red satin lips are currently in for this winter season. So it is a very desirable finish.

Longevity

This is a highly pigmented bright shade, hence it lasts for up to 4-5 hours on my lips. Being creamy in texture, it definitely transfers, initially, but after that, the base layer stays for hours. It goes away leaving a pinkish tint on lips which is desirable from a highly pigmented lipstick.

Likes

  • Very creamy texture glides on lips smoothly.
  • The Colour pay off is very very good.
  • Heavily moisturizing on lips.
  • It does not accentuate fine lines/dry lines on lips.
  • This particular shade Chaos- brightens up face instantly.
  • Stays up to 4-5 hours on lips.
  • Leaves a tint behind.
  • No smell, no taste.
  • Quality product at affordable prices.
  • About 158 shades to choose from.

Dislikes

  • The lipsticks are way too creamy that they can’t survive the heat of Indian Summers. My previous lipsticks melted away during summers. I had to keep them into a refrigerator to keep them from melting.

  • Not all the shades will suit Indian Skin Tones. But the shade range is so vast, it can cater to every skin tone.

Summary

Highly moisturizing, insanely pigmented and a huge range to choose from with affordable price, what else do we look in a lipstick. I am stocking up my favorite shades from this range very soon.
