Is Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum Worth The Hype? | Review

Green Tea is an important ingredient in Korean skin care products. The reason is very simple. Green Tea is high in anti oxidants. The anti oxidants present in the ingredient fights against skin ageing. It also reverse ageing process. Green Tea also keeps bacteria’s and infections away, keeping skin healthy. But Green Tea is a slow ingredient. It works slowly and with persistent usage you can notice some nice change in your skin elasticity and texture.

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum is quite a famous green tea serum. It’s been raved about a lot by beauty bloggers. They swear by it. I too bought few months ago. I was looking for an effective serum which would not suffocate my oily skin. Today I am going to review how effective this serum has been for me. Stay tuned.

Innisfree Green Tea Serum comes packed in a green colored themed card-box. The outer packaging contains all the information about the product in English and Korean (may be) languages. Inside you find green plastic bottle with a brown pump. The pump is very effective in dispersing the right amount of product. So there is no wastage. The green colored bottle gives a very nice effect to the eyes. I wish the serum was packed in a glass bottle so that it would not lose it’s efficacy over time.

Fragrance & Texture

There is a very mild fragrance that I don’t even notice whenever I am in hurry while applying it. It definitely is a relief to the sensitive noses. Next comes the texture of the serum. The serum is off white colored, lightweight and runny in texture. It absorbs very quickly upon application. There is no stickiness or oiliness post application.

My Experience With Innisfree Green Tea Serum

Korean skin care involves product by product layering. Sometimes there are as many as 10 products  to be layered upon your skin. It kinds of freak me out as the humid Indian climate does not allow to wear even a moisturizer. A serum is a lightweight skin care lotion like product. Most of the serums are so much lightweight that even oily skin could bear the consistency. But ingredients of a serum are very important, they should not be comedogenic. Serums can be used to treat different skin concerns.

Green Tea Serums are the first choice of Oily Skin when it comes to anti ageing effects. Green Tea also contains moisturizing agents which nourish skin deeply. Oily skin can rely upon Green Tea Serum for it’s moisturizing and protection needs. Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum kind of serves the same purpose for my skin.

The serum is very lightweight in texture but it moisturizes skin beautifully. It does not make it unnecessarily oily, specially during these humid days. Even during winter my skin never asked for more moisture after using this serum. I love how quickly this serum gets into my skin. My skin is ready within 2-3 minutes to wear a sunscreen/makeup.

About the long term effects, I would say, It keeps skin moisturized and happy. But that’s all. It never really worked to do anything else for me like Za True White or Za Perfecting Solution Youth Solution did. It did not brighten up my skin tone. It did not even out my complexion. It did not stop any breakouts. It did not heal any zits. It did not work on my pore size. Apparently raw Aloe Vera works way better than this serum in terms of yielding results.

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum, is a lightweight serum with pure green tea extracts. It moisturizes skin without feeling sticky die to it’s lightweight texture. Dry skinned beauties might need to use another moisturizer over top of this serum. It never gave any rashes to my sensitive skin.  Except hydration, my skin did not receive nay other benefits from the serum. On top of that, the serum is highly priced. I certainly feel that the serum has been over hyped.

Have you used this serum? How was your experience with serum? Do you think this serum is is just over hyped?

Much Love,

Nisha ❤
