Homemade Henna-Milk Cream Hair Pack for Hair Conditioning : DIY

Hi guys!

Long hair has been my dream since childhood but I have always kept my hair short as I was not good at taking care of my hair. After I finished school, I started to grow out my hair. At first, I used only oil, shampoo, and conditioner. Then, one of my friends, who had classic length hair, suggested a few homemade henna packs for extra pampering. I customized her ideas to meet my hair’s needs and this is how my own set of henna packs was born. Today I am going to share my conditioning henna hair pack recipe that I use when my hair becomes extremely dry. This pack makes my hair manageable and soft.

Things You Will Need & Why Do you need them

1. Henna Powder

This is the main ingredient of this pack. Henna treats dandruff, gives strong and lustrous hair. You can use any good quality henna powder that works for you or make it at home grinding sun-dried henna leaves. The natural henna powder is better than readymades but I am a bit lazy so I have to rely on the store-bought ones.

2. Fresh Cream

Fresh cream is a natural deep conditioner. It is rich in protein. Malai or milk cream lessens breakages by strengthening hair fibres. It works best on extremely dry hair. Curd can also be used in place of fresh cream.

3. Oil

Oil double locks the nutrients in the hair. Any food-grade natural oil like olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, castor oil, or vegetable oil can be used as they penetrate into the hair and can work from within. Coconut oil works best for my hair.

4. Aloe Vera Gel

I use aloe vera gel in this pack as it hydrates my dry hair. I am using my trusted old friend, Patanjali Aloe vera gel but you are free to choose any aloe gel you like. Natural aloe vera gel is the best option as it is 100% natural.

5. Black Tea

Black tea works as the base for this hair pack. Tea is said to reduce hair fall and its antiseptic properties treat scalp diseases. To make the brew for this henna pack, you need to boil 1 ½ teaspoon dried tea leaves in a teacup of water until it becomes black. Use it lukewarm for best results.

How to Prepare?

Step-1

Take henna powder according to your hair length and volume and mix it with 2-3 tablespoon fresh cream. I need 4 tablespoon henna powder and 3 tablespoon fresh cream for my fine hair which is an inch shorter than my waist.

Step-2

In the second step, I add black tea to achieve the desired consistency. Do not add too much or the application will be messy.

Step-3

In this step, I mix 1 tablespoon aloe gel.

Usage

Apply the pack from the roots to the tips. You can also make a henna bun to saturate each and every hair strand with the hair pack as the salon people do on their clients. I prefer this second way. I keep it for 1 ½ hour. When the waiting time is over, I cleanse my hair with a mild herbal shampoo and water. This pack should be applied once a month for optimal results.

Bonus Tips

1. If you want a deeper reddish tint along with conditioned hair, keep the pack in your hair for 3-4 hours.
2. If you have extremely dry hair, instead of aloe gel, the gel from 2 vitamin-E capsules will be a better choice.

Until Next Time.
