Habib Hair Serum For Dry, Curly & Treated Hair : Review

Guest Post By Sam Sheokand

Did you hear about the giveaway on HOG. Who does not like freebies every now and then. Good luck to all the participants.

Today I am going to talk about a hair serum which is quite popular for dry, curly & treated hair. This is from Jawed Habib. He does not need an introduction. He runs a chain of Habib Hair Salons. How great it is to have a product curated by such a professional. The serum is definitely favorite of many girls.

I too bought this serum ages back. I have fine & chemically treated hair. I have been using this serum for years. I am going to tell you more about this serum in detail. Let’s get to the formal part of this serum.

About Habib Hair Serum For Dry, Curly & Treated  Hair Serum

This serum best suited for dry, curly & treated hair, nourishes & detangles hair, induces sheen & luster. It helps in treating split ends also. Apply few drops of this serum to your damp hair for best results.

Packaging

The packaging of this hair serum is very simple. 100ml hair serum is packaged in dark blue colored transparent plastic bottle while 50 ml comes in a green colored transparent plastic bottle. Both have screw-in black cap at the top. The opening of the bottles are fitted with stopper with a hole at the center so that you can take out the product out of it. The packaging is practical, sturdy & travel friendly too.

Color, Texture & Smell

This is a transparent water like serum with a very mild and pleasant sweet smell. The serum is runny hence easy to spread and apply on hair. The beautiful fragrance stays on hair for initial few minutes and later fade away.

My Experience

I started using Habib Hair Serum, 3 years ago. I have fine hair but frizzy too since they have been chemically treated many times and hence are damaged too in the process.

I apply hair serum, while my hair are still damp. This helps them to detangle easily without damaging the roots. This way we can save some hair breakage & hair fall finally. Habib Hair Serum, helps me detangle my hair nicely. It’s easy to comb through my hair that way. Next, there is nice frizz control & fewer flyaway. In case I put more serum than required, I do not feel much difference in the frizz control but my hair feels little limp or flat.

What I do not like about this hair serum, that there is a lot of product build up eventually because hair serums are generally loaded with silicons to give hair that ultimate smoothness & shine. With time my hair starts looking really dull and no amount of hair serum can make them alive again. The only cure is to use a clarifying shampoo regularly.

Editor’s Note : Sam, I was too an avid user of Habib Hair Serum until I laid my hands on Streax Hair Serum. I too faced a lot of product build up from Habib Hair Serum which was my reason that I never settled for this serum. Though in terms of frizz control the serum worked beautiful on my thick & wavy hair. It has a comparable performance to Giovanni Hair Serum which is another nice hair serum but gives product build up. I think when we use a hair serum it becomes must to use a Clarifying Shampoo regularly.

Likes

  • Comes in variable sizes.
  • Clear runny consistency.
  • Easy to spread & apply on hair.
  • Little is required to  tame frizz.
  • Works on most of the hair types.
  • Induces shine to hair.
  • Affordable & easily available.

Dislikes

  • Leads to product build up.
  • The effect of the serum does not stay for long on my chemically treated hair. I need to reapply it many time within subsequent washes.

Summary: 4/5

If I ignore the product build up part, this is an amazing hair serum to control frizz to certain extent. It works on fine, thick, curly, dry  & damaged hair. It is affordable & easily available too.
