Banana Smoothie For Hair : DIY

Up for another DIY? Heard about the very famous banana mask for hair?

Banana is super rich in protein and other minerals. It has high moisture content. It can be proved to be a super food for your hair & skin also. Any type of hair will get extra boost of shine and moisture with this hair mask. Let’s get into the details right away.

What You Will Need?

For medium length hair:

  • 2 Ripe Bananas.
  • 4 Tablespoon of Milk/Honey/Olive Oil
  • Essential Oil(s) (Optional)
  • A hand blender

How To Prepare?

  1. Cut the bananas into small pieces.
  2. Put the pieces of banana and milk in a mug and blend into a nice runny and smooth paste.
  3. Put few drops of the essential oil (lavender or tea-tree anything you want/suit you)
  4. De-tangle your hair and divide into different sections.
  5. Apply the paste to the hair sections one by one.
  6. Roll up all the sections and put on a shower cap.
  7. Let the hair mask on for at least an hour, the more the merrier.
  8. Wash your hair with gentle shampoo.
  9. Let your hair air dry.
  10. Fluent the nourished hair.

Make sure you get really ripe bananas and blend the banana pieces thoroughly so that there are no chunks left, otherwise you will face difficulty while washing your hair.

Why add essential oils to the Banana Hair Mask?

  1. Tea Tree /Lavender oil will add anti bacterial properties in case you suffer from dandruff or itchy scalp.
  2.  The essential oil will cover (mask out) the rubbish smell of the hair mask.

  • The only drawback of this hair mask is the smell. But the smell can be masked easily by using any essential oil. If you don’t have any kind of essential oil, no worries. Use any oil you have got at home, coconut oil, almond oil any thing would do.
